Feature Writing and Reporting
Whether it be a story about organ trafficking in Latin America or a football subculture in Cambodia, I see writing as advocacy. For that reason, I hold the voices of those involved at the heart of every story I tell.
Rather than dealing in convenient soundbites or data for news packages, my currency is human experience.

Meet the Stone Island-Wearing Cambodian Football Ultras
I am handed a warm cup of Angkor beer that is about 50% head. The sweet pungencies of Phnom Penh’s evening perfume lurk in my nostrils—or maybe they are just hooked in my brain. I duck to avoid a sweeping flag displaying a logo of a skull in a soldier’s helmet. Someone taps me on the shoulder, offering out some stickers: ‘Ultras Army,’ ‘Green Brigade,’ ‘We Support Till We Die.’ Then it all got a bit mad.

In this unique series of travelogues published exclusively here, I bring you a bit closer to the feel of some of the places that I have been to, near and far.
